About the Bloomberg Fellows Program
The Bloomberg Fellows Program was established to prepare a new generation of public health leaders capable of transforming health systems and improving health equity. Fellows receive advanced education while maintaining strong partnerships with their employing or collaborating organizations, ensuring that learning is directly applied to real-world public health practice.
Applicants may apply to either the MPH or the DrPH program during one application cycle. Applying to both programs will automatically make an applicant ineligible for fellowship consideration.

To be eligible, applicants must:
- Apply to either the MPH or DrPH program at Johns Hopkins.
- Complete the full graduate application through SOPHAS.
- Submit the Bloomberg Fellows application through Submittable.
- Be associated with a collaborating organization that completes the required organizational application.
- Begin the academic program in 2027 if selected.
Applicants seeking the DrPH fellowship should note that only candidates initially admitted to the DrPH program are eligible for fellowship review. Waitlisted applicants are not considered.

The fellowship is structured as a grant. However, recipients must fulfill the terms of the Bloomberg Fellows Agreement; otherwise, the grant may convert into a loan under the program’s repayment conditions.
Two-Part Application Process
Applicants must complete both application components before the deadline.
Part 1: Apply through SOPHAS
Submit an application to the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, including:
- Academic transcripts
- Required test scores (if applicable)
- Letters of recommendation
- Supplemental admissions materials
Part 2: Submit the Fellowship Application
Through Submittable, applicants must submit:

- Collaborating Organization Form (completed by the partner organization)
