About the Assignment
The successful candidate will become part of the UNDP/Joint Support Team supporting the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC).
The GPEDC brings together governments, bilateral and multilateral organizations, civil society, the private sector, parliaments and trade unions to promote more effective development cooperation. Its 2023–2026 Work Programme focuses on generating evidence, strengthening policy dialogue and action, and increasing political awareness and behavioural change through outreach and advocacy.
The Junior Programme Coordination Analyst will help support the final year of the current work programme while contributing to planning for the next 2027–2030 Work Programme.
Key Responsibilities
The Programme Coordination Analyst will provide substantive, coordination, communications and secretariat support to GPEDC activities.
Key responsibilities include supporting the preparation and editing of concept notes, moderation notes, speaker invitations, speaker biographies, communications materials and other documents for GPEDC events and activities.
The analyst will also participate in team and stakeholder discussions, prepare meeting minutes, track action points and support follow-up activities.
A major component of the position involves communications and outreach. This includes updating website content, disseminating materials, drafting press releases and preparing social media toolkits related to GPEDC work and events.
The successful candidate will also support speaker outreach and confirmation, prepare planning documents for advocacy activities and assist with the organization of major meetings, forums and events.
Another important responsibility will be supporting country-level development cooperation work. This includes helping prepare stories of progress, blogs and short summaries of government-led Action Dialogues and related GPEDC activities.
The analyst will also assist with updating more than 100 country pages on the GPEDC website and help coordinate advocacy opportunities around major global and regional forums.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in public administration, public policy, international relations or affairs, politics, international development studies, economics, business administration, social sciences or another related discipline.
Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field may also be considered if they have at least two additional years of qualifying professional experience.
Applicants holding a relevant Master’s degree are not required to have professional work experience.
Relevant experience includes programme coordination and management, policy research and analysis, preparation of policy or knowledge briefs, communications and outreach, and administrative or organizational coordination.
Experience supporting multi-stakeholder partnerships, conferences, workshops or international organizations is an advantage.
Knowledge of development cooperation, aid effectiveness and the effective development cooperation agenda is particularly relevant. Familiarity with the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC) would also be beneficial.
Candidates should be comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and should demonstrate strong organizational, communication and teamwork abilities.
Languages
Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of French and/or Spanish would be considered an asset.

The position reports to the Partnership and Advocacy Specialist, under the overall supervision of the GPEDC Team Lead, while working closely with members of the UNDP/Joint Support Team.
