About the Role
The Climate Metrics Specialist serves as the Global Climate Team’s lead expert on climate metrics and impact measurement. The role focuses on ensuring that conservation indicators are scientifically rigorous, consistent and suitable for tracking climate mitigation, adaptation and resilience outcomes.
Working closely with the Global Climate Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Lead, the successful candidate will contribute to developing measurement systems that demonstrate the effectiveness of nature-based climate solutions and clean energy initiatives.
This role combines scientific research, quantitative analysis, geospatial data management and strategic programme evaluation to support conservation decision-making across TNC’s global portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
The Climate Metrics Specialist will lead and support a wide range of technical and analytical activities, including:
- Developing climate mitigation and adaptation metrics.
- Designing monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL) frameworks.
- Conducting carbon accounting and conservation impact analyses.
- Building proxy indicators and outcome measurement systems.
- Managing spatial and tabular datasets.
- Producing reproducible statistical and geospatial analyses.

Salary and Benefits
For applicants employed in the United States, the annual salary range is:

For applicants based outside the United States, salaries will be determined according to the local labour market and paid in local currency. Compensation will depend on qualifications, experience and the confirmed country of employment.

Minimum Qualifications
