Applications are open for the Sisters in Public Health Scholarship 2026. The Sisters in Public Health mission is to create a safe space to empower, educate, and evolve the next generation of women in public health.
Sisters in Public Health was established in 2017 as an association to promote self-care amongst women at UTHealth School of Public Health in Houston, Texas. The goal was to create a safe and empowering environment to talk about being a woman in leadership, self-care, breaking down barriers and overcoming life’s challenges.
Scholarship
- Sisters in Public Health awards three $1,000 scholarships in August annually.
Eligibility
Bourda Scholarship
- Public Health student in a Bachelor program
- Completed at least 1st year of program
- Basic membership status
- Full-time student
- Identifies as a woman in public health
- Attends school in the United States
- 3.0 cumulative GPA
Frazier Fund
- Public Health student in a Masters program
- Completed at least 1 term
- Basic membership status
- Part-time or full-time student
- Identifies as a woman in public health
- Attends school in the United States
- 3.0 cumulative GPA
Lockett Award
- Public Health student in a Doctorate program
- Completed at least 1 term
- Basic membership status
- Part-time or full-time student
- Identifies as a woman in public health
- Attends school in the United States
- 3.0 cumulative GPA
Application
Prior to beginning the form, be prepared to provide:
- Applicant profile
- Essay responses
- Resume/CV (PDF only)
- Transcript (if not sending official transcript from institution; PDF only)
- Letter(s) of recommendation (if recommender(s) not sending separately; PDF only)
- Official SiPH member certificate (member certificates are emailed within 5 business days of applying for membership so it is highly recommended that you become at minimum a basic member at least 2 weeks prior to submitting application; PDF only)
All application components are to be submitted via the electronic scholarship application in one complete submission by Sunday, June 21, 2026 at 11:59PM PST. No components are to be sent via email or postal mail (exceptions allowed only for official transcripts from the institution and letters of recommendation from the recommender(s) which may be sent to [email protected]).
