Applications are open for the Flour Mills of Nigeria (FMN) Prize for Innovation 2026. The FMN Prize for Innovation is a social impact initiative established by Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc (FMN) to encourage new ideas in food production, innovation, and engineering, and how these can enable a sustainable food system in Nigeria.
Every year, the prize will focus on an important aspect of the food value chain that we believe is critical to transforming and sustainable development of the country’s food systems. This year, the FMN Prize for Innovation (FMN PFI) is looking for big ideas, technology-powered solutions, and simple yet ingenious Innovative practices in Cassava Production and Processing in Nigeria. The competition is split into two categories.
Prizes
- Category 1: Successful candidates in this category will be invited to pitch their ideas in front of live judges who will award the winner the prize of N5 million, N3 million, and N2 million for the first and second runner-up.
- Category 2: Successful candidates in this category will win: N700,000 (Seven Hundred Thousand Naira Only) for the 1st Prize, N500,000 (Five Hundred Thousand Naira Only) for the 2nd Prize, and N300,000 (Three hundred thousand Naira Only) for the 3rd Prize.
Eligibility
Open to Nigerian MSMEs and Nigerian students in undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Category 1: For registered Nigerian SMEs in the Food and Agro-Aillied Sector
- Category 2: For students with innovative ideas to transform Cassava Processing and Production in Nigeria.
