African School of Regulation Scholarship 2026

Applications are open for the African School of Regulation Scholarship 2026. The African School of Regulation is offering ten scholarships to qualified and motivated early or mid-career energy professionals who wish to take part in the Power Sector Regulation in Africa course.

These scholarships are intended for individuals who are committed to contributing to the development of Africa’s energy sector. Early and mid-career professionals from the following sectors are encouraged to apply:

  • Regulatory authorities
  • Ministries and government agencies
  • Power utilities
  • Academia
  • Investors
  • Development organizations

Eligibility

To qualify for the ASR Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of an African country.
  • Have a background in the energy, regulatory, or related sectors. A master’s degree in a relevant field with at least 3 years of experience is required. A bachelor’s degree may be considered with a minimum of 5 years of experience.
  • Be currently working in the African energy sector.
  • Demonstrate financial need and a commitment to apply the knowledge gained within their local context.
  • Commit to the full online program, including weekly live classes, online discussions, weekly assignments and the final report.

Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee. Scholarships will be awarded based on:

  • Alignment between the applicant’s motivation and the course objectives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving the energy sector in Africa.
  • Financial need.
