About the LeadGreen Leaders Program
LeadGreen is a continent-wide leadership initiative that supports the next generation of African climate leaders. Rather than focusing solely on theory, the fellowship emphasizes practical action through structured environmental missions, peer collaboration, expert-led learning, and mentorship.
The programme is delivered entirely online, making it accessible to participants across all 54 African countries. Fellows join a diverse cohort of young leaders committed to addressing environmental challenges within their own communities.
What Fellows Will Learn
During the 12-week fellowship, participants progress through four interconnected learning pillars:
- Environmental Foundations: Understand climate change, plastic pollution, biodiversity loss, deforestation, flooding, and other environmental challenges affecting Africa.
- Green Skills & Solutions: Explore practical approaches including waste management, recycling, afforestation, sustainable living, climate action, and green innovation.
- Environmental Action Missions: Design and implement achievable environmental projects within local communities while documenting measurable impact.
- Community & Leadership: Collaborate with peers, participate in live masterclasses, and build lasting relationships with environmental practitioners and fellow changemakers.
The programme is self-paced with weekly activities, allowing fellows to balance learning alongside university studies or professional commitments.
Who Can Apply?
