Act Change Transform (Act!) has announced an opportunity for an experienced Knowledge Management and Communications Officer to join its programmes team in Nairobi, Kenya. The position is designed for a professional with strong expertise in knowledge management, organisational learning, communications, stakeholder engagement and the development of knowledge products.

Knowledge Management and Communications Officer Role
The Knowledge Management and Communications Officer will be responsible for managing knowledge and communication resources across Act!’s programmes and projects, including consultancies and long-term grants.
The position will play an important role in ensuring that programme knowledge is effectively captured, documented, shared and transformed into useful resources for internal and external audiences.
The successful candidate will also maintain relationships with important stakeholders, including donor agencies, government institutions and private-sector partners.
Key areas of responsibility will include:
- Managing organisational knowledge and communication resources.
- Supporting knowledge sharing and organisational learning.
- Developing reports, case studies, stories and other knowledge products.
- Strengthening knowledge management systems and digital repositories.
- Translating programme data into actionable knowledge and recommendations.
- Supporting communication and documentation across programmes and projects.
- Facilitating collaboration between technical and functional teams.
- Engaging external stakeholders and promoting effective partnerships.
Academic and Professional Requirements
Applicants are expected to hold a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution in a relevant discipline.
Acceptable academic backgrounds include:
- Information and Knowledge Management.
- Information Science.
- Library and Information Science.
- Information Systems and Knowledge Management.
- Another closely related field.
Additional professional training in strategic, corporate or digital communications may be an advantage. Training in project or programme management is also considered beneficial.
Required Professional Experience
Act! is seeking an experienced candidate with at least five years of experience in knowledge management and organisational learning.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate practical achievements in areas such as knowledge product development and strengthening organisational knowledge management systems.
The role requires a professional capable of working independently, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality outputs within established deadlines.
Essential Skills and Competencies
The successful candidate should demonstrate strong analytical, critical-thinking and synthesis abilities, particularly the capacity to transform programme information and data into useful knowledge products.

- Strong technical writing and editing abilities.
- Experience developing reports, case studies and organisational stories.
- Knowledge of digital repositories and knowledge management systems.
- Experience integrating knowledge management with programme and MEAL processes.

- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
- Strong digital literacy and familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.
- Experience with collaboration platforms and content management systems.
- Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as KoboToolbox, Power BI and Tableau.
- Familiarity with graphic design tools.
- Flexibility, cultural sensitivity, integrity and a willingness to travel.
