IsraAID has opened applications for the position of Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Coordinator, offering experienced humanitarian and development professionals an opportunity to provide technical leadership for a multi-country nutrition programme across Africa. About the Position
The MEAL Coordinator will provide strategic and technical leadership for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning across the Integrated Community Nutrition Management Programme.
Reporting to the Global Organizational Learning Lead Manager, the successful candidate will ensure that programme monitoring systems align with IsraAID’s global standards while promoting evidence-based decision-making, accountability, continuous learning, and programme improvement across multiple countries.
The position combines technical oversight, field support, capacity strengthening, research coordination, and knowledge management to ensure programmes achieve measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of the programme’s MEAL framework across all participating countries.
- Conducting at least two field monitoring visits per country each year.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of digital monitoring systems and data collection tools.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to country office MEAL teams and programme staff.
- Strengthening organizational learning through knowledge-sharing initiatives and learning events.
- Coordinating MEAL activities with implementing partners and stakeholders.
- Managing external programme evaluations and ensuring recommendations are incorporated into future programming.
- Supporting operational research initiatives in collaboration with academic institutions and research partners.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- A Master’s degree in public health, social sciences, statistics, international development, or a related discipline.
- Candidates with exceptional Bachelor’s degrees and significant relevant experience may also be considered.
- Formal specialization or professional training in Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) or MEAL.
Professional Experience
Candidates should demonstrate:
- At least seven years of progressive MEAL experience in humanitarian or international development programmes.
- Experience supporting Health, Nutrition, or WASH interventions.
- Supply chain programme experience will be considered an added advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise managing the complete MEAL cycle, including:
- MEAL framework development
- Monitoring plans
- Digital data collection systems
- Reporting tools
- Learning frameworks
- Data quality assurance
- Previous experience working in African countries is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
Applicants should have strong knowledge of:

Experience with DHIS2 or similar Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) will be considered an additional advantage.
