PhD Fellowship Structure and Duration

- Three-year PhD fellowship (research only)
- Four-year fellowship including 25% compulsory teaching duties
The fellowship is designed to support independent research leading to a doctoral degree in Human Geography.

Eligibility and Academic Requirements

- A master’s degree in Human Geography or a closely related field
- Completion of five years of university-level education (Norwegian equivalent)
- At least two years (120 ECTS) at master’s level
- Strong academic performance, typically equivalent to grades A or B at master’s level
- Proven ability to undertake independent research
Applicants whose education was completed outside the EU/EEA or in non-English programmes must demonstrate English proficiency through recognised tests such as TOEFL or IELTS.

- Academic performance, including master’s thesis quality
