Pulitzer Center Global Reporting Grants 2026

Deadline: Rolling Basis

Applications are open for the Pulitzer Center Global Reporting Grants 2026. The Pulitzer Center’s global reporting grants support in-depth, high-impact reporting on critical issues that are often overlooked in the media. This is their “catch-all” grant, so there are no restrictions on topic or reporting location. Staff and freelance journalists are eligible worldwide.

Grants are for the hard costs of reporting a specific story or series of stories. These costs can include travel, paying for essential data, or temporarily hiring additional people with certain skills. They do not fund academic reports, advocacy campaigns, book projects, feature films, or broad concepts without specific story ideas. They do not provide support for staff salaries or the purchase of basic equipment for freelancers or newsrooms.

Grant

  • Most awards for international travel are between $5,000 and $10,000 but may be more or less depending on circumstances.

Eligibility

  • Open to reporters, photographers, radio/audio journalists, television/video journalists, and documentary filmmakers.
  • They are committed to supporting journalists from diverse backgrounds and of all nationalities.
  • They accept applications in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and bahasa Indonesia.

Application

There is no deadline for grant applications; grants are awarded on a rolling basis.
