The Pulitzer Center is calling for local media or radio outlets in East, Southern, and West Africa to submit their proposals to implement participatory radio programs inspired by Pulitzer Center-supported stories. Initiatives are designed to engage communities and amplify Pulitzer Center-supported journalism on the intersection of climate and labor.
Proposals should focus on:
- Labor rights and conditions: Highlighting workplace fairness, worker protections, and policy updates.
- Livelihoods: Exploring sustainable income, economic opportunities, and community resilience.
- Climate justice: Addressing climate change impacts, adaptation needs, and policy reform.
- Community engagement: Encouraging grassroots participation, youth involvement, and active participation in the information ecosystem.
- Policy dialogue and informed action: Inspiring listeners to engage in advocacy, decision-making, and community-level initiatives.
Grant
- The Radio Engagement Initiative offers a financial support for up to $2,500 to radio outlets or media organizations based in West, East and Southern Africa.
Eligibility
- Open to local media or radio outlets in East, Southern, and West Africa.
- They are seeking proposals that address issues such as labor rights and conditions, livelihoods, climate justice, and the need for adaptation for labor regulations in response to climate change and its impacts on communities.
- Proposals can be submitted in English or in French.
