Professionals and recent graduates seeking practical experience in international development, global health, food security, gender, and humanitarian assistance can apply for the International Development & Humanitarian Assistance Internship at Effaced Inc.
The remote internship offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced evaluators, researchers, and management consultants while gaining exposure to business development, proposal preparation, research, project support, and consulting operations.
Effaced is offering two to three internship positions for entry-level professionals interested in developing their careers within international development and humanitarian assistance consulting. The internship is particularly relevant to candidates who want to understand how development consulting organizations identify opportunities, build partnerships, prepare proposals, and support projects in low- and middle-income countries.
The position was posted on 2 October 2026, with a closing date of 9 October 2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the positions are filled.
The internship is designed to provide substantive professional exposure rather than focusing primarily on routine administrative duties. Interns will receive direct mentorship from the Chief Executive Officer, with mentoring tailored to their professional interests and career aspirations.
Most of Effaced’s work is focused on global health, with growing engagement in food security. The organization also works across areas including gender and livelihood development.

Proposal Coordination
Proposal development is another important component of the internship. Interns may prepare and manage data calls for consortium partners, track submissions, maintain proposal management tools, and support technical whiteboarding and proposal design discussions.
These responsibilities can help early-career professionals develop practical skills in project coordination, technical writing, collaboration, and deadline management.

They may also assist with copy editing, formatting, and quality assurance of client-facing materials.
Additional responsibilities can include drafting job descriptions, screening applicants, maintaining time-tracking records, and providing operational support in a fast-paced consulting environment.
Candidates with quantitative or qualitative research skills may also contribute to data analysis. Experience with tools such as SPSS, Stata, R, Atlas.ti, Tableau, or Power BI would be advantageous.

Why This Remote Internship Matters
For graduates and entry-level professionals, gaining experience in international development consulting can be challenging without previous exposure to donor-funded projects or proposal processes. This internship offers a practical opportunity to develop those skills while working remotely with experienced professionals.
The combination of CEO mentorship, research, proposal development, partner engagement, evaluation support, and analytical work could make the opportunity particularly useful for candidates building careers in international development, humanitarian assistance, global health, food security, gender, research, monitoring and evaluation, or consulting.
Because the internship is unpaid and requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week, prospective applicants should carefully consider the time commitment and financial implications before applying.
How to Apply
Applicants should prepare their CV and cover letter as a single file and email the document to by email.
The cover letter should explain the applicant’s career aspirations and why they believe Effaced would be a good fit for their professional goals. Applicants must also include their Jolo username in the body of the email.
Applications submitted through LinkedIn will not be considered. Effaced will contact shortlisted candidates only, and applicants are advised not to call.
