About IDinsight

IDinsight is a global nonprofit data and evidence advisory organisation that works with governments, philanthropies, NGOs, multilaterals and funders to improve social outcomes. Its teams use rigorous research, technology, data science and evidence to help decision-makers determine what works, improve existing programmes and scale effective interventions.

Its work spans the full data and evidence value chain, including primary data collection, monitoring and evaluation, data systems, research, data science and evidence-based decision-making. IDinsight also develops AI-for-good solutions designed to make social interventions more effective, affordable and scalable.

About the Associate and Senior Associate Roles

Associates and Senior Associates are early-career professionals who contribute directly to projects addressing complex social and development challenges. The roles combine project management, research, data analysis, client engagement, fieldwork, communications and team development.

Successful candidates may work on a single project for an extended period or contribute to multiple assignments. Depending on project requirements, they may engage in remote and field-based programme work, statistical analysis, research activities and strategic discussions with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities include coordinating project workflows, managing deliverables, supporting research design and data collection, conducting technical analysis, developing presentations and reports, and translating evidence into practical recommendations for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Associates and Senior Associates will support day-to-day project execution while ensuring that work is delivered according to agreed plans and quality standards. They may lead or support research design, data acquisition, analysis, visualisation and the preparation of client-facing outputs.

The roles also involve developing reports, slide decks, presentations, policy briefs and other communications products that help clients understand evidence and make informed decisions.

Client and stakeholder engagement is another important component. Candidates may participate in client meetings, contribute to proposals and concept notes, and help strengthen relationships with governments, NGOs, funders and other partners.

Field responsibilities can include managing data collection teams, monitoring data quality and travelling to project sites, client locations and remote or rural communities where required.

Qualifications and Skills

IDinsight considers candidates from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, including economics, data science, public policy, development, engineering, environmental science, political science and related disciplines.

Strong analytical ability is essential. Candidates should have exposure to econometrics, data analysis, research methods and quantitative or qualitative approaches, either through academic study or professional experience.

Strong writing skills are also required, particularly the ability to translate complex technical information into clear reports, policy briefs, analytical documents and other decision-oriented communications.

Successful candidates should be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities and comfortable working under deadlines. Intellectual curiosity, adaptability, teamwork and a willingness to learn new concepts and methodologies are highly valued.

Preferred Technical Experience

Experience with statistical and data collection tools such as Stata, SPSS, R, SurveyCTO or Open Data Kit (ODK) is desirable.

Familiarity with the local context and relevant languages of the country or region where a candidate is placed can also strengthen an application. Candidates should be willing to travel for extended periods, including to remote and rural locations, where project requirements and safety considerations permit.

Location and Work Authorisation

IDinsight’s preferred locations are Delhi, Manila, Lusaka, Nairobi, Dakar and Rabat. Preference may be given to candidates who already have work authorisation in these countries, although IDinsight may seek employment visas for exceptional candidates.

Applicants outside these locations should be prepared to relocate to their assigned office when employment begins. Start dates are flexible and will depend on project requirements, organisational needs and candidate availability.

Career Development and Benefits

IDinsight provides Associates and Senior Associates with significant opportunities for professional development. Employees receive mentorship, peer support, structured feedback, professional development plans and opportunities to take on challenging assignments.

The organisation also provides an annual professional development budget. Benefits may include international health insurance with mental health coverage, paid leave, parental leave, relocation assistance, travel support, technology and work-from-home stipends, and other employee-focused benefits.

Application Information

There is no application deadline for this evergreen talent pool. Interested professionals can apply online by submitting a CV and completing the application questions.

Applicants should understand that joining the talent pool does not constitute an employment offer or guarantee consideration for a particular position. When a suitable opening becomes available, shortlisted candidates participate in IDinsight’s competitive recruitment process, which may include interviews, practical exercises and reference checks.

IDinsight generally expects successful candidates to make a minimum two-year commitment, making the opportunity particularly suitable for professionals seeking substantial experience in evidence-informed decision-making, international development, data analytics and social impact.
