Applications for the Huduma Fellowship 2026 are now open. The Huduma Fellowship is a transformative leadership program designed to develop exceptional public servants in Uganda. Through intensive training and mentorship, we cultivate leaders who are committed to excellence in public service. Fellows are equipped with the skills, values, and networks needed to drive meaningful change in Uganda’s public sector, creating lasting impact in their communities and beyond.

Program Components
Six integrated pillars that equip Huduma Fellows with the skills, networks, and mindset to lead transformational change in public service.
- Leadership Development: Monthly seminars and workshops focused on public service leadership, ethics, and governance — building the foundational skills for effective and principled leadership.
- Mentorship: One-on-one guidance from experienced public service leaders and policy makers who provide strategic counsel, career navigation, and accountability.
- Networking: Building lasting connections with fellow champions and leaders across sectors — creating a peer network that extends well beyond the fellowship year.
- Study Tours: Immersive exposure visits to successful public service initiatives, institutions, and governance models — learning from what works on the ground.
- Project Work: Hands-on experience through capstone projects that address real public service challenges — turning theory into measurable community impact.
- Knowledge Exchange: Structured forums for sharing experiences, research, and best practices among fellows, alumni, and visiting experts — fostering collective intelligence.
Eligibility
- Applicants should be between 25-35 years old
- Demonstrable interest in volunteerism and civic & public service
- Early stage professionals working in the civic & public sectors in Uganda
- Interested in public affairs and committed to continuous learning
- Based in Uganda or working on Uganda-focused public service initiatives
- Available to participate in all seminars, workshops, and fellowship activities
