Applications are open for the Aga Khan Foundation Canada Global Leadership Program 2026. The AKFC’s Global Leadership Program brings together a diverse cohort of mid-career Canadian professionals from across sectors. Together, participants explore the forces shaping society and connect with others committed to building a more peaceful, prosperous, and pluralist world for all.
Through collaboration and shared learning, participants develop the mindset and skillset to confidently lead with purpose, insight, and hope.
Costs
- The program covers the cost of the virtual engagement sessions and in-person seminar in Ottawa, including travel to and from Ottawa from anywhere in Canada between November 1 and 6, 2026, accommodation, meals, and logistics.
- The overseas learning experience (TBC) will require some contribution from participants.
Note: If you are selected, a nominal fee of $100 CAD will be expected to secure your spot in the program. AKFC is committed to ensuring that this program is accessible to participants regardless of financial status. If you are selected and this fee is a barrier, notify AKFC so that they can accommodate this.
Eligibility
- Be a citizen or permanent resident of Canada.
- Be fluent in English.
- Be available to travel to and attend the in-person residential program in Ottawa between November 1 and 6, 2026. (The program fully covers the cost of travel from anywhere in Canada, accommodation, and meals for the residency.)
- Demonstrate a clear desire to learn from others and to contribute to meaningful dialogue.
- Be committed to joining virtual group coaching sessions before and after the in-person residency.
- Be committed to staying engaged as an alum — continuing to learn, collaborate, and contribute to a growing network of global leaders that are committed to a more peaceful, prosperous, and pluralist world for all.
Application
The application period opens April 21, 2026, and closes on May 19, 2026, at 11:59 pm ET. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to submit a short video responding to an interview question in late June to early July 2026. Successful applicants will receive an invitation to join the 2026 cohort by July 31, 2026.
