UNOPS is Hiring a Remote Communications & Advocacy Manager Role with Education Outcomes Fund: Apply by 30 July 2026

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) has announced a new international career opportunity for communications professionals, opening applications for a Communications & Advocacy Manager position with the Education Outcomes Fund (EOF).

The home-based role offers experienced candidates the chance to lead global communications initiatives supporting innovative education financing programs that improve learning and employment outcomes worldwide.

Applications are open until 30 July 2026, with the successful candidate expected to begin a maternity cover contract running from 15 September 2026 to 15 April 2027.

About the Position

The Communications & Advocacy Manager will join the Education Outcomes Fund, a global initiative hosted by UNOPS that works with governments, donors, investors, and development partners to transform education systems through results-based financing.

Operating remotely, the successful candidate will report to the Head of Communications & Advocacy and lead strategic communication activities that increase the visibility of EOF’s programmes while supporting advocacy, fundraising, partnerships, and stakeholder engagement.

Position Overview

  • Position: Communications & Advocacy Manager
  • Organization: UNOPS – Education Outcomes Fund (EOF)
  • Location: Home-Based (Remote)

Supporting Global Education Transformation

The Education Outcomes Fund was established to address persistent challenges facing education systems in low- and middle-income countries.

According to EOF, nearly seven in ten children in these countries cannot read with understanding by the age of 10, while many education programmes fail to produce measurable learning or employment outcomes. Through innovative outcomes-based financing, EOF helps governments and partners focus investments on measurable improvements rather than simply funding activities.

The Communications & Advocacy Manager will play an important role in promoting this mission by strengthening EOF’s public profile and communicating its impact to global audiences.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will oversee strategic communications across multiple international programmes while ensuring messaging remains consistent with EOF’s mission and branding.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Developing communication strategies for country programmes.

  • Ensuring consistent branding and messaging across all projects.
  • Coordinating communications for fundraising and partnership initiatives.
  • Producing high-quality multimedia content for diverse audiences.

The Communications & Advocacy Manager will:

  • Lead communication planning for events such as the United Nations General Assembly.
  • Coordinate virtual and hybrid advocacy events.
  • Identify speaking opportunities for senior leadership.
  • Build event communication strategies that maximize visibility.
  • Maintain EOF’s annual events calendar.
  • Support partnerships through strategic engagement opportunities.

These activities are designed to strengthen relationships with governments, donors, development partners, and international organizations.

Content Creation and Digital Communications

The position places a strong emphasis on creative storytelling and multimedia communication.

The selected candidate will oversee the production of:

  • Articles and feature stories.
  • Research summaries and reports.
  • Blog posts and newsletters.

UNOPS is seeking experienced communications professionals with strong backgrounds in strategic communications and international advocacy.

Applicants must possess:

  • Early childhood development.
  • Skills-for-employment initiatives.
  • Innovative financing models.

  • Advocacy and policy communications.

Strong organizational skills, strategic planning abilities, and excellent written communication are essential for success in this role.
