About the Program Coordinator Role

The successful candidate will join a three-year international programme dedicated to improving AI adoption and effectiveness within government institutions. Working closely with globally distributed teams, the Program Coordinator will provide operational, administrative and knowledge management support while helping ensure the successful delivery of project activities.

Key Responsibilities

The Program Coordinator will contribute across several programme management functions, including:

  • Monitoring project outputs and deliverables for monitoring and evaluation frameworks
  • Preparing quarterly reports and internal programme updates
  • Developing training and presentation materials
  • Coordinating project and subcontractor budget tracking
  • Supporting communications through success stories and project materials
  • Organizing virtual and in-person events
  • Scheduling meetings with international stakeholders
  • Preparing meeting summaries, action items and reviewing AI-generated meeting notes
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation and knowledge management systems
  • Managing multiple workstreams while ensuring high-quality deliverables

The position combines project administration, communications, budgeting and AI-enabled knowledge management within a fast-paced international development setting.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Approximately 3 years of professional experience, including internships and part-time employment
  • Experience supporting project implementation and budget monitoring
  • Experience coordinating events and logistics, including virtual events
  • Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation concepts
  • Basic knowledge of artificial intelligence and experience using AI productivity tools
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace and collaborative digital platforms
  • Experience working with remote or internationally distributed teams

Because many project partners are located internationally, employees are expected to begin most workdays by 8:00 AM Eastern Time.

Work Location

This is a hybrid position based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Staff work remotely part of the week while spending at least two days per week in the organization’s downtown office at the Open Gov Hub between Tuesday and Thursday.

The role is not eligible for fully remote work or relocation outside the Washington, DC area. Applicants must already be authorized to work in the United States.
