Another important responsibility will be monitoring and presenting analytics relating to internal communications channels and products. This includes analyzing performance data from the intranet and newsletters to help strengthen internal communication approaches.
The consultant may also help organize webinars, training sessions and other events, while developing resource materials that can help staff understand and participate effectively in internal communications.

Applicants must have recently graduated from a Master’s degree or higher and must also hold an undergraduate university degree.
While a minimum period of professional experience is not presented as an absolute requirement, UNFPA indicates that at least one year of relevant professional experience in communications, marketing or public relations is a plus.

A Remote UN Consultancy
One of the major attractions of this opportunity is its home-based working arrangement. The consultancy is listed as remote, allowing the successful candidate to undertake the assignment without being stationed at a UNFPA office.
The initial contract will run for six months, with the possibility of extension.
However, applicants should note that the consultancy comes with an important financial and administrative requirement. Candidates must have medical insurance covering the duration of the consultancy. UNFPA does not provide medical insurance for consultants, and proof of insurance must be submitted before the consultancy begins.
Why This Opportunity Matters
A consultancy with UNFPA can provide valuable exposure to communications work within the international development and United Nations system.
The role offers the opportunity to contribute to communications supporting UNFPA’s broader mission, including work connected to gender equality, reproductive health, maternal health, gender-based violence, youth and demographic change.
For recent graduates seeking to build careers in international development communications, public relations, digital communications or stakeholder engagement, the position could provide relevant professional experience and exposure to a global organization.
The role may also suit communications professionals who already have experience producing digital content, managing newsletters, analyzing communications performance or coordinating events and want to apply these skills within a multilateral development organization.
UNFPA’s Commitment to Diversity
UNFPA states that it is committed to a work environment based on gender equality, diversity, integrity and healthy work-life balance.
The organization encourages applications from women and welcomes candidates from underrepresented groups, including persons with disabilities and minority and Indigenous communities.
Applicants should therefore assess their qualifications against the published requirements and submit their applications before the stated deadline.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should prepare a resume and cover letter demonstrating their qualifications, relevant communications experience and suitability for the consultancy.
Applications must be submitted by email to [email protected] by 4 September 2026.
Due to the volume of applications received, UNFPA notes that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
Applicants should also be aware that UNFPA does not charge any application, processing, training, interviewing or testing fees during its recruitment process. Candidates should be cautious of anyone requesting payment or sensitive banking information in connection with this opportunity.
