Why This Consultancy Is Valuable
This opportunity is particularly relevant to senior fundraising professionals with expertise in individual giving, public fundraising, digital fundraising and resource mobilisation strategy.
The assignment provides an opportunity to directly influence the financial sustainability of a major development and humanitarian organisation during an important institutional transition. It also offers consultants the opportunity to apply market intelligence, fundraising innovation and strategic planning to the Kenyan and wider East African context.
How to Strengthen the Application
Applicants should avoid presenting themselves as general fundraising consultants. The TOR places particular emphasis on public and individual fundraising expertise, so proposals should clearly demonstrate previous work in this area.
A strong technical proposal should:
- Demonstrate detailed understanding of Kenya’s giving ecosystem.
- Present a practical methodology for market research and stakeholder engagement.
- Explain how public fundraising opportunities will be prioritised.
- Include realistic approaches to income forecasting and return on investment.
- Demonstrate experience with mobile, digital, diaspora and mass-market fundraising.
- Provide examples of comparable assignments and measurable results.
- Show how the proposed approach will produce a strategy that Oxfam Kenya can realistically implement and sustain.
