Amref Health Africa aims to recruit and onboard a pool of skilled storytellers who will support them in Kenya to document, package, and disseminate impact stories that highlight community voices, innovations, county-level interventions, frontline workers, and strategic results aligned with Amref’s 2023–2030 Strategy.
County Storytellers will be engaged on an assignment basis to:
- Conduct interviews and collect programme impact stories in the residing counties.
- Capture high-quality photographs and short videos.
- Produce digital storytelling content for social media.
- Document county events and programme achievements.
- Follow Amref’s consent, safeguarding, and storytelling guidelines.
Eligibility
- Applicant should have a degree in Communication / Communication Studies; Journalism / Media Studies; Public Relations; Digital Media / Multimedia Production; Development Studies (with strong writing skills); Public Health / Community Health (for those able to translate technical health content into stories).
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in either of the following: storytelling, journalism, communications, digital content creation, community documentation, development communication or research.
Added Advantage
- Experience documenting health programmes
- Photo/video editing skills
Deliverables
- Written human-interest stories (600–1,000 words).
- High-quality photos (edited and raw).
- Short videos (30 seconds–2 minutes).
- Social media-ready scripts and quotes.
- Field notes, captions, and metadata.
