The Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC) has officially launched applications for the 2026 Cleantech Innovation Competition, inviting early-stage entrepreneurs, innovators, and higher education students across Kenya to present groundbreaking clean technology solutions that address pressing environmental challenges.

The competition is a collaborative initiative between the Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC), the Embassy of Switzerland in Kenya, SICPA, and Strathmore University. Designed to accelerate climate innovation, the programme aims to identify, nurture, and support promising cleantech businesses capable of driving sustainable development while contributing to Kenya’s green economy.

Applications are open from 10 July 2026 to 10 August 2026, with shortlisted applicants expected to receive feedback by 15 September 2026.

Competition Seeks Innovative Solutions to Environmental Challenges

The Cleantech Innovation Competition has been established to provide a platform for innovators developing technologies and business ideas that can help solve Kenya’s environmental challenges while creating sustainable economic opportunities.
